Black silicon carbide f46

Black Silicon Carbide  is widely used in cutting and lapping both very hard and very soft materials. Its excellent cutting ability ranges from such materials as marble, porcelain and carbide, to aluminum, copper, brass, cast iron, plastic, glass and quartz. Its exceptional hardness and sharpness enables it to cut rapidly and resist wear.

Black silicon carbide (SIC) is made from quartz sand and carbon( anthracite coal tar or petroleum coke) in electric esistance furnace at high temperature. It has the characteristic of high hardness, excellent electrical and heat conductivity, low thermal expansion, and high abrasion resistance.

Product Feature of Black Silicon Carbide
  1. Good oxidation resistance and chemical stability at high temperatures.
  2. High hardness with Mohs 9.2-9.3. Even at 2000℃, it’s still getting high strength.
  3. Excellent toughness.
  4. Low thermal conductivity. So it can resistant to thermal shock.
  5. High purity min SiC content is 98.5%.
  6. High bulk density.
  7. Black silicon carbide grit is washed by water before the milling process, so there are few impurities.
