Black Rainbow Carborundum is produced in electrical internal resistance furnaces from high purity silica sand and petroleum coke. This product has high hardness, abrasion resistance, thermal shock resistance, and strength at high-temperature ranges. It can be used in refractory and grinding media. Black SiC is typically used on hard or brittle materials. It is also used for kiln furniture refractory, lapping and polishing, non-woven, tumbling, pressure blasting, anti-skid, electrical heating elements, aerospace, composites, etc.
